Store Auditor

- Shopify App Store Listing
Shopify merchants needed to know which app was actually slowing their store. We built one that answers, by name.
Every Shopify app a merchant installs adds something to the storefront: a tracking pixel, a widget, a script, a layout block. Existing audit tools tell merchants their store has “too many third-party scripts”. Useful, but it stops there. The actual question (which app is the offender?) usually gets passed to a developer and bounced back.
We built Store Auditor to close that gap: a Shopify-native app that scans the storefront with real Lighthouse, attributes blocking time and render impact to each installed app by name, and gives merchants a specific fix list they can action. The app is live on the Shopify App Store and available for any merchant to install.

We started by mapping the problem from a merchant’s seat: install, scan, get a named list, ship a fix. Three steps, about 90 seconds end-to-end. From there we designed the experience to match: one-click OAuth install with no theme edits, automatic scans across home, product, collection and cart on both mobile and desktop, and a per-app table sortable by blocking time and severity.
Under the hood, Store Auditor is a custom Shopify app that integrates real Lighthouse for performance scans and a proprietary attribution engine that links each network request, blocking script and Theme App Extension block back to the specific app that installed it. The scanner detects both modern Theme App Extension blocks and legacy script tags, and billing runs on Shopify’s native plans (free tier plus a 14-day Pro trial).
The marketing site at storeauditor.au launched alongside the app: pricing page, how-it-works flow, an insights blog covering Shopify performance topics, and dedicated landing pages for the queries Shopify merchants actually search (find slow Shopify apps, improve Shopify speed). The whole thing is engineered to load fast on a phone, which is the only credible position for a performance product.
Live on the App Store
Store Auditor is live on the Shopify App Store and available for any Shopify merchant to install. The app gives a store owner a clear, named, ranked list of which installed apps are dragging the storefront down, alongside a specific fix recommendation for each.
We built it ourselves because it is the tool every Defyn performance audit needed to exist, and the rest of the Shopify ecosystem needed too. Try it on your store at storeauditor.au, backed by Defyn for ongoing web development Sydney support and custom Shopify work.
